Indianapolis hosts Inaugural Sustainability Summit

Guidon Design was a proud sponsor and award winner at the Inaugural Sustainability Summit on March 28, 2018 at the IUPUI Campus Center. The City of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Office of Sustainability honored four award recipients who inspire innovation, showcase impact, reward leadership, and promote education around the principals of sustainability. These four awards were created to highlight transformative work by a business, institution, non-profit, or individual that integrates the three pillars of sustainability (people, planet, and profit), in their efforts. Guidon Design was presented with the Outstanding Business Advancing Sustainability award.

All Summit participants engaged in community building activities throughout the day. Participants had the opportunity to choose between three tracks of break-out sessions that were focused on people and organizations who are advancing sustainability. Topics included: waste diversion, resilience, health, sustainable business practices, mobility, clean water, environmental policy, the built environment, and local food in the Indianapolis Community. Guidon Design staff member, Hannah Fleck, presented on a Career Panel geared toward students looking to grow in the sustainability profession.

The summit highlighted the impact of community and collaborative efforts in advancing sustainability in Indianapolis. Proceeds raised from ticket sales will benefit the City of Indianapolis SustainIndy Community Grant Program, which supports local organizations in advancing sustainability.
