Job Description

Seeking a full-time Structural Engineer in Training for a position within a multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering firm.  This position will work as a design structural engineer on vertical building projects to include renovations, new multi-story buildings, parking garages, healthcare, higher education, and municipal projects. Experience with cast-in-place and precast concrete, steel framing, and wood structures is desired along with the ability to self-perform structural calculations with RAM structural software and design within Revit Structures.

The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of professional engineering experience. A degree in civil or architectural engineering with a structural emphasis or relevant coursework is required. PE or SE licensure is a plus, but not required. This is a growth opportunity for someone looking for a unique small multi-disciplinary firm culture. Guidon Design is a growing 40-person A/E firm located in Indianapolis that offers an energetic and dynamic work environment with growth potential. The firm focuses on the architectural design of commercial projects with a focus on healthcare (inpatient & outpatient). Projects will also include Life Sciences and government projects ranging from $150k to +$70M in construction. The firm has a dedicated focus to designing sustainably minded projects and is in the process of finishing a new office (LEED Platinum) that will be completed in January 2019. Typical projects include healthcare, life-science, government workplace, housing, federal and education facilities.

The responsibility of this position is performing specialized structural engineering work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The individual in this position will take work seriously, has a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined.

A somewhat faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. Detailed, specialized structural engineering work is the major focus. The position will allow the individual to plan for, focus on and complete tasks on hand. The position will generally be task-oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work.
