Job Description

Work with a design team to integrate holistic sustainability practices into the firm’s design/construction projects. Evaluate and develop sustainability frameworks for large commercial client systems. Work as a liaison between the owner, contractor and the design team to implement sustainability rating/code-based systems to include: LEED, WELL, ASHRAE 189.3, EnergyStar, Envelop, Living Building Challenge and others. Track progress on implementation of client’s sustainability goals. Work to educate/mentor/promote sustainability within the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in discipline from accredited institution or significant relevant work experience
  • LEED AP and/or sustainability credentials
  • While a license in architecture, engineering, and/or interior design registration is not required, it is preferred

Skills/Qualities:

  • Broad understanding and experience with design and office related computer software and operating systems. A high level of proficiency required in discipline specific software.
  • Strong experience working within the range of sustainability rating systems.
  • Knowledge of construction documentation process and integration of sustainable principles into the design and construction of buildings.
  • Proactive and assertive in problem solving
  • Experience managing parallel assignments
  • Good written, oral communications, staff management and client relationship skills
  • Create, communicate, implement, and manage sustainable design solutions
  • Strong work ethic and a drive to exceed client expectations.
  • A desire to personally grow and to help the company grow its staff in implementation of sustainable design strategies.
  • Experience in healthcare related projects a plus.
  • Act as a leader to project team
  • Support teammates and act as a mentor and educator where needed
  • Create, communicate, implement, and manage design solutions

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptually working to develop new building and renovation designs.
  • Evaluation of sustainability rating systems and system-wide sustainability frameworks.
  • Supporting a team of in-house and out-of-house architects and engineers through the design process.
  • Coordination within a multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Ensure all project needs are met.
  • Achieve or exceed your profitability goals
  • Strong experience managing high-quality set of construction documents.

  • Write proposals and establish project budgets and managing staff to meet these budgets.
  • Manage, invoices and revenue recognition
  • Develop, maintain, and meet project schedules and deliverables
  • Work with Team Leader to assign tasks to staff and coordinate resource needs.
  • Assist with quality control and risk management
  • Maintain a technical expertise in your profession and area of work to include new products, software and tools that will assist you in better meeting our client’s needs
  • Be willing to put in the effort to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Assist in selection of sub-consultants
  • Familiarity and experience working with applicable codes, rules and/or AHJs.
  • Participate in the sales and marketing of Guidon’s services to existing and new clients
  • Look for opportunities to add to and upsell Guidon services with our clients
