Guidon Design Staff Grows by 9 Employees in 2017

Guidon Design experienced a growth spurt in 2017, welcoming nine new employees to our staff. Earlier this year, Guidon Design was awarded the Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) Tax Credit which offers the incentive for the creation of new, full-time, permanent positions for Indiana residents. These new additions to the team are some of the brightest architects, engineers, and marketers in the State.

While working towards his BS is Civil Engineering at Purdue University, Andrew Kennedy worked for various engineering firms, including Wantman Group and McCormick Engineering. Andrew’s passion for engineering, physics, and applied mathematics naturally led him into the field of Structural Engineering. Andrew began his full-time career in the Structural Engineering Department at Guidon Design in January of 2017.

 

 

New to the industry, Christan Sanders has spent 20 years perfecting her customer relation and multi-tasking skills. A native Hoosier, Christan grew up in Muncie, IN and attended Butler University. She spends her free time gardening, walking her dogs and cat on the Monon Trail, and camping and hiking. Christan joined the Guidon Design team as Administrative Assistant and Publication Coordinator in February of 2017.

 

David Vallandingham grew up in Pensacola, Florida, moving to Indiana to attend Ball State University. He graduated with a Master’s of Architecture in 2013. He then worked for 4 years at a mixed-use residential architecture firm in Chicago. Starting at Guidon in June of 2017, David and his new bride relocated to the Downtown area, where they enjoy biking and exploring all the dining and entertainment that Indianapolis has to offer.

 

David Marquardt joined the Civil Engineering team at Guidon Design in July of 2017. David attended Valparaiso University then worked for DLZ Industrial in Burns Harbor before relocating to Indianapolis. David’s hobbies include Ballroom Dancing, which he has done competitively, keeping in shape at the gym, and visiting family in St. Louis.

 

Kyle Niehaus is the most recent Graduate Architect to join the Guidon Design Team. Kyle is a graduate of Mooresville High School and then Norwich University, where he earned his BS and Master’s of Architecture in 2017. Having lived in Texas, Colorado, and Vermont, this is Kyle’s third return to Indianapolis, where he spends his free time working on cars and trail biking. Kyle began his professional Architecture career at Guidon Design in July of 2017.

 

Max Reiche joined the Guidon Design Team in September 2017 as a Senior Structural Engineer. Max has an MS from Brigham Young University and over seventeen years of structural design experience. He worked in Utah, Arizona, Washington, North Dakota, and currently for the last 6 years in Indiana. Max has worked on projects all over the United States and holds sixteen Engineering licenses. He lives in Terre Haute, Indiana with his family.

 

Chris Ward is an Indiana native that grew up in Avon, Indiana. He graduated in 2009 from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a BS in Accounting and Finance. For the past eight years, Chris has helped many the city’s up and coming companies achieve financial clarity. When he is not working, Chris enjoys traveling with his girlfriend and spending time with their two German Shepherds, Baby and Valentine.

 

With 25 years Architecture and Project Management experience, Andrew Schaewe joined Guidon Design in September of 2017. Andrew is a Hoosier transplant, raised in Cincinnati, he attended Ball State University and began his career with a Cincinnati firm relocating to Indianapolis. Andrew is the proud father of two sons. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and gardening, running marathons, and has been known to perform stand up comedy.

 

In October of 2017, Guidon Design hired Hannah Marr to fill the role of Marketing Coordinator. Hannah grew up in a small town in southern Ohio and moved to Indiana to attend IUPUI for Journalism. She began her marketing career in 2013 helping a local firm develop their brand strategy. Hannah enjoys hiking, euchre, and renovating her Broad Ripple bungalow.
